Although strongly advised not to, President Barack Obama visited Kenya recently to vouch for the rights of the LGBT community. In Kenya, gay sex is punishable for up to 14 years. He compared the oppression of the LGBT community to the oppression of race. He said he was “painfully aware of the history when people are treated differently under the law.” However, Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta wasn’t moved and said that gay rights is a “non-issue” and is “not really an issue that is at the foremost minds of Kenyans and that is a fact”.
The press conference ended off on a good note though, and Prez Obama was caught on camera doing the Lipala Dance. Check it out above.
