Incoming students took to social media to protest horrendous living conditions at one of the most respected Historically Black Universities, Howard University. While students were preparing to move in and get ready for the upcoming school year, they had to deal with rats, mold and high tuition for the fall semester.

Students took to Twitter and created #TakeBackHU. With the help of some alumni, they were trending on Twitter. The students voices were heard because school officials met with student leaders to discuss change needed at the University, promising change. Students took pictures of their living conditions which included rats, mice, broken showers, air conditioning and ceilings.

Howard is considered to be one of the most popular HBCU’s in the United States. Alumni includes, Phylicia Rashad, Debbie Allen and Toni Morrison. Diddy attended Howard and was honored with an honorary degree.
