Actress Sanaa Lathan, known for her roles in films such as “Love & Basketball” and “Brown Sugar” has been riding high this past week with the release of her new film “The Perfect Guy,” which co-stars Michael Ealy and Morris Chestnutt. The is expected to top the box office in it’s opening weekend, making the the past few weeks dominated by Black led films, counting the N.W.A. biopic “Straight Outta Compton.

With that said, Lathan looks to expose more of her talents with the release of a brand new tune titled “Emotional,” featuring Detroit based newcomer Dej Loaf. Though many may not know of the stars musical acumen, the track actually came about via a conversation with super producer Detail. After watching a screening of the film, Detail had a conversation with Lathan about how emotional her love interest in the film was. This led to Detail inviting Sanaa to the studio to cut a tune based on that premise, and here we have it. Check it out below.
