The N.W.A biopic might have opened the doors for another Hip Hop story

Due to the major success Straight Outta Compton did in the box office, there have been some rumblings in Hollywood that state Universal is considering another biopic depicting a very important era in hip hop revolving around Def Jam Recordings. The talks include, actor Michael B. Jordan and Jonah Hill playing as Russell Simmons and Def Jam co-founder Rick Rubin respectively. 

The film is supposed to be centered around Russell Simmons and Nelson George’s book Sex, Drugs, Money, + God, which sheds light on Russell and Rick’s career and the formation of Def Jam Recordings. The story will show the timeline and upbringing of the culture’s roots to how it became the most dominant voice in today’s generation. There is no set date or other actors mentioned, but if you stay locked to Source, we will be the first to break the news.
