Kansas City takes a commanding lead over the Mets in this year’s World Series after last night’s 7-1 win
The Amazin’ Mets made Johny Cueto look like Cy Young last night after the Kansas City pitcher held the crew from Citi Field to just one run in the Royals defeat over New York last night to take a substantial 2-0 World Series lead.
Cueto, who has had a slump of a postseason until last night, defeated Mets favorite Jacob deGrom on the mound. The Mets pitcher walked the lead off batter i nthe fifth inning and gave up four runs on five hits, which helped seal the win for the Royals. Cueto mismatched degGrom’s pitching stats, giving up only two hits the entire game, both to Mets star Lucas Duda.
The Mets will have an oportunity to redeem themselves after two losses in Kauffman Stadium whe nthey return to Queens for Game 3.
