Spinoff Tech Shell Toes

Storied and notable footwear and clothing brand Adidas is experimenting with a futurist paradigm of design.  Subsequent to the reveal of a 3D printed “Futurecraft” sneaker manufacturing process, the footwear constructor is showing off an unconventional yet astute new sneaker modeling procedure.  The adjustment to the 1969 classic “Superstar” silhouette possesses a trifecta of adept designers namely adidas Originals VP of design Nic Galway, industrial designer Alexander Taylor and shoe designer Joachim de Callatay.  The shoe makeup is wholly idiosyncratic in its piecing of the upper with a single slab of leather being forced into the “Superstar”or “Shell Toe” shape, in turn offering flex and reinforcement.

Adidas thought outside of the box by borrowing a technique normally utilized on metal in industrial work on the leather milling and shoe shaping process.  Adidas innovative new design model allows for one singular slice of leather to make up the entire shoe in using tools of industry labor.  This particular Adidas innovation will be offered in an extremely limited quantity and the kicks posses a retail price of $400.  Marking the 45th anniversary of the revered sneaker modernizer, Dover Street Market locations on November 7 will be dispensing a sparse 45 pairs. Adidas proclaims their desire with this technology to eventually expand the scale of its availability and offer it to athletes as a customizable service.
