Andrew Luck is expected to miss 2-6 weeks with a lacerated kidney and a partial tear to his abdominal muscle.

Head Coach Chuck Pagano said that the injury occurred in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s win over the Denver Broncos. The Colts will have to turn to veteran quarterback Matt Hasselbeck to fill in for Luck.

It’s way too early to guess how long Andrew will be out,” said Pagano. “We’re going to keep listening to the doctors and evaluating his progress on a week by week basis. We’ve got all the confidence in the world in Matt Hasselbeck and we’re not going to put Andrew back out there until he’s healed and ready to go.

The Colts are currently tied with the Houston Texans for first place in the AFC South with a 3-5 record. The Colts are on a bye this week , but have to face the Falcons, Bucs, Steelers, Jaguars, and Texans over the next few weeks.
