For the past few days, you got the feeling Pusha T was finally about to do something. He’d been teasing his sophomore solo album, King Push, since January of last year, showing off sessions with the likes of Pharrell and Puff Daddy on social media, and recently, news that he’d been in with fellow Virginia native Timbaland hit the internet. Some song lyrics were published on Genius. Then a snippet. News that he’d been named the new president of G.O.O.D. Music provided a joyous moment. Everything except a new song.
