The Real Housewives of Atlanta has been a dominate force in Bravo’s Housewives franchises, beating out its New York and Orange Country predecessors with commanding ratings.

As the first—and only—predominantly African-American cast, Atlanta will have some competition soon, as Bravo announced yesterday (Wednesday, November 11) The Real Housewives of Potomac and The Real Housewives of Dallas will premiere next year. Potomac leads the charge, debuting on January 17, and Dallas premieres later in the year.

Dallas, one of Texas’ bigger cities, is an obvious choice for the next wave of reality housewives but Potomac, Md., a wealthy town near Washington, D.C., was an unsuspected choice.

The Real Housewives of Potomac is the show you never saw coming, and it’s going to take everyone by surprise!” executive producer Andy Cohen said in a statement. “As for The Real Housewives of Dallas, it’s a natural extension of the franchise with a Southern twist y’all will enjoy.”
