Tonight, Friday, November 13th, Jimmy Fallon and “The Tonight Show” will play host to a very special reunion show for the legendary A Tribe Called Quest.
The reunion comes in celebration of the reissue of their debut album, People’s Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm, which is also out today, Friday, November 13th.
A Tribe Called Quest last performed live in 2013, opening for Kanye West during his Yeezus show run. The group released five albums, before breaking up in 1998 and reuniting once more in 2006.
“I had this album in my head for years before I did it,” member Q-Tip said in a statement for Rolling Stone. “Looking at it overall, to see the thoughts of a 16-year-old gain any kind of acknowledgement makes me feel like I have arrived … But to see it in this incarnation … I’m humbled.”
The reissue of the album also features Pharrell on “Bonita Applebaum,” J. Cole reworking “Can I Kick It?” and a remix of “Footprints” by Cee-low.
