As they prepare to release a celebrator, partially remixed version of their classic debut album, People’s Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm, A Tribe Called Quest took to Jimmy Fallon‘s late night post, The Tonight Show, to perform one of their signature records, “Can I Kick It?”

Backed by The Roots, a legendary group in their own right, Q-Tip, Phife Dawg and Ali Shaheed Muhammed confidently hit the stage and killed it, much to the delight of Fallon, and the Tonight crowd. In 1990, when the album was released, it was received in a lukewarm manner commercially, but would go on to achieve critical acclaim, and today, is one of the most celebrated early 90’s Hip-Hop albums. In fact, The Source awarded the album the coveted “Five Mics” rating, making it the first album to ever receive that high a rating since The Source began in 1988.
