Guardians of the Galaxy went from a lesser known comic book series to a blockbuster hit when it released in 2014. While Chris Pratt‘s “Star Lord” and Bradley Cooper‘s voice work as “Rocket Raccoon” were a large part of the films comedic appeal, one character stole the show, and only needed three words “I am Groot!”
Vin Diesel voiced the tree-like superhero in the first film, and has subsequently made not that every “I Am Groot” actually means something different each time he says it. For Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, director James Gunn revealed that there is actually a special script that exists which gives Diesel an idea of what infliction to use on his “I Am Groot”s.
