Boston MC Mr. Lif has signed a multi-album deal with indie label, Mello Music Group. He’s celebrating with the forthcoming reissue of his classic concept album, I Phantom, originally released on El-P’s Definitive Jux label back in 2002.

Produced by El-P, “Return Of The B-Boy” is laced with a buoyant synth loop and zealous drums. Mr. Lif will unveil his first Mello Music album early 2016, with further releases through 2017.

It was a very intentional decision to remain unsigned by any record label until I was absolutely ready. That personal journey spanned from 2007 to 2015. I needed to step back and gain perspective on a great many things. I waited the right amount of time. I grew. I recorded an abundance of new material over the years, found the right record label, and now it’s time to come back and start round two of my career.” – Mr. Lif

The I Phantom reissue drops November 27th. Stream “Earthcrusher” below.
