Though he had spent the better part the last 12 months embroiled in a money dispute with Cash Money Records CEO Bryan “Birdman” Williams and his highly anticipated The Carter V album still in limbo, Lil Wayne has not let that stop him from working tirelessly and providing fans with new material. After revealing that he would be returning with the follow up to his 2009 critically acclaimed mixtape No Ceilings, the New Orleans rapper made good on his promise and released the 24-track project to wet the appetite of listeners on Thanksgiving.
Weezy adds his take on some of the biggest hits including Rico Richie‘s “Poppin,” Drake‘s “Hotline Bling,” 2 Milly‘s “Milly Rock” and more. The standout cut from the set though has to be Wayne’s reworking of Baby E‘s “Finessin.” The melodic record received a welcomed boost with the a-list cosign.
