Friday night the Masters of Ceremony Series presented by Adam Torres Concerts turned NJPAC into an official trip down hip hop memory lane! KRS-One, The Lox, Ja Rule, Rakim, Mad Lion, Lords of the Underground and Black Moon took us back to the golden era performing hit after hit to a very enthusiastic sold out crowd.

Lords of the Underground set it off with their classic, ‘Chief Rocka’ followed by an electric reggae set by Mad Lion who forced the crowd to ‘Take it Easy’. Black Moon and their Duck Down crew rapped through classics while bringing out Rock from Heltah Skeltah to pay homage to member Ruck who passed unexpectedly this year.

The Lox proved they are the streets as the crowd chanted hit after hit until Ja Rule hit the stage with Murder Inc members Vita and Charli Baltimore. Rakim stepped to the stage to an overwhelming response allowing the crowd to rap most of his records while he did his classic stance on stage.

But when KRS-One came out, hip hop fans roared as the teacher taught us his classic lessons. The entire NJPAC was jumping and turning up to every jam he performed including his new unheard hits because after all, he is the teacher.

Don’t miss the next Masters of Ceremony because it’s truly a hip hop lovers dream!
