50 Cent is one of Hip Hop’s most outspoken personalities, giving his candid opinion on anything that crosses his radar. Recently, the rapper/entrepreneur took to his Instagram account and lambasted Def Jam on how they rolled out Jeremih‘s Late Nights: The Album. The project, which had two chart topping singles “Don’t Tell Em” featuring YG and “Planes” featuring J. Cole, was released this past Friday without any prior warning or announcement. Though it contained popular singles, neither song had any music videos to accompany them.
50 also highlighted that the album is priced at $18.99, any odd mark up considering retailers looking for more ways to move units, with lower prices being one of the methods.
What Def Jam has done to Jeremih is so foul. They have dropped the ball in so many ways. They have his Album out at $18.99 I have never seen a album priced that high in 5 years. SMH STUPID MOTHERFU?KERS.
The 15 track set features contributions from J. Cole, Migos, YG, Juicy J, Jhene Aiko, Future, Big Sean and more. Friends and frequent collaborators, famously working on 2010’s platinum single “Down On Me,” 50 Cent and Jeremih were spotted hanging out at Club Lust in Brooklyn this past weekend. No word on whether Jeremih voiced any frustrations which might have prompted this reaction from Fif.
