Yesterday, the 2016 Grammy nominations were revealed, and Wale‘s name was nowhere to be found. We felt if for nothing else, the DMV native should’ve gotten a nod for his stellar “The Matrimony” single (see our full list of snubs here), which featured Usher in one of the best R&B hooks of the year, but it fell short behind cuts like Common and John Legend‘s “Glory” and Big Sean, Kanye West and John Legend’s “One Man Can Change The World.” Naturally, Wale didn’t take kindly to this news, and went on a moderate rant on Twitter, in which he brought up an interesting tidbit regarding his relationship with Kendrick Lamar while responding to a suggestion from a fan.

If you remember, Wale reached out to Demi Lovato on Twitter earlier this year telling her that he had written a beautiful song that he’d like her to check out. Apparently, he never heard from the budding pop star. Kendrick Lamar’s labelmate, Jay Rock, who barely tweets, caught wind of Wale’s comment and took the opportunity to respond to it on Twitter with a quick, all-caps declaration.

So much for a Wale/Jay Rock collab in the future.
