First Lady Michelle Obama has been a pillar of excellence and the consummate role model for women in general since making her way to the nation’s capital alongside her husband back in 2008, but her latest act of awesomeness has the White House lawn drenched in Black Girl Magic and we’re loving every minute of it.

The FLOTUS has spearheaded several initiatives geared towards ensuring that education is kept at the forefront of priorities among young people and has also made White House history with her efforts to incorporate Hip-Hop culture into many of her programs. Back in 2013, the First Lady partnered with The Hip-Hop Public Health Foundation to orchestrate the release of a compilation album titled “Songs For A Healthier America,” as part of her “Let’s Move” campaign focused on ending childhood obesity. Iconic Hip-Hop artists RUN-DMC and Dougie Fresh were among those included on the album, which featured songs encouraging children to exercise and make healthy food choices. More recently, Mrs. Obama tapped Hip-Hop lyricist Wale to perform at the White House as a part of the President’s “Reach Higher” education event, hired former Philadelphia Hip-Hop journalist Deesha Dyer as the White House Social Secretary and even honored Hip-Hop media maven Karen Civil, along with a select few other female influencers, for their outreach efforts geared toward inspiring young women to recognize their potential for leadership through education.

Having two teenage daughters in the mix, the First Family as a whole is never far removed from Hip-Hop culture or higher education (President Obama even named Kendrick Lamar’s “How Much A Dollar Cost?” as his favorite song of 2015), so it was only fitting the President’s right hand woman team up with SNL comedian Jay Pharoah to pay homage to her Chi-Town roots while encouraging young people to stay in school with a hilariously necessary music video titled “Go To College.”
