In a bit of unfortunate news today, TMZ is reporting that Meek Mill could potentially be headed back to prison.
The report claims that Meek, who is still on probation stemming from a 2009 drug and gun conviction, traveled outside of his hometown of Philadelphia without the court’s permission. It’s believed that the traveling in question is when Meek attended November’s American Music Awards in Los Angeles. Last year, he spent 6 months behind bars, also for a parole violation.
Should a judge decide today that Meek did in fact violate his probation, it would be the unfortunate culmination of what’s been a sensational, but turbulent year for the MMG emcee. His sophomore album, Dreams Worth More Than Money, debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200, selling 246,000 copies in its first week, “All Eyes On You” became his biggest hit to date, and he entered a high profile relationship with darling girlfriend Nicki Minaj. However, in recent months, his August riff with Drake has dominated headlines and drawn attention away from his first-half accomplishments.
A short while ago, Meek posted the following to his Instagram account, encouraging prayers and acknowledging that it could be his last post for a while.
His new mixtape, Dreamchasers 4, is due out this month.
