The group sent a list of alleged Islamic State affiliated accounts on Twitter to the social media network, which ended up being completely inaccurate. This caused the social network to ignore the hacktivist group.

To correct their faults, Anonymous took to Ghostbin to ask the internet community for their assistance in trolling the Islamic State for a day on December 11.

“You may be wondering why we are ‘trolling’ ISIS and planning all these demonstrations against ISIS. But to understand that you must first see how ISIS works,” said Anonymous in the message. “They thrive off of fear they hope that by their actions they can silence all of us and get us to just lay low and hide in fear.”

The post continues to speak about how people can help and they’re using the hashtags #Daesh, which is a derogatory term used in Iraq and the Middle East and #Daeshbags. They’re encouraging people to make videos mocking ISIS on YouTube as well as getting people to print out photos mocking them and then spread them throughout one’s city. They then caution that some may misinterpret the message.
