Late Saturday night [December 12, 2015], a man armed with two handguns and a rifle was shot and killed by police after entering and threatening the customers of the East Stroudburg Walmart in Pennsylvania.

Witnesses say that a white male entered the store at approximately 10:11 p.m. while wielding his guns and an additional assault weapon resembling a machete.

Stroud Area Regional Police were called to the scene and instructed the man to drop his weapons upon arrival.

Authorities say that after he began pointing his weapons towards police, officers shot the suspect in the upper chest area. He was pronounced dead at Pocono Medical Center.

No other civilians or officers were injured.

The Monroe County District Attorney’s office and Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the incident.
