Russell Westbrook isn’t supposed to be able to do this.

It’s not unreasonable to think that .7 seconds is not enough time to do a lot of things. Certainly not execute a whole self-assisted basketball shot. Yet, here we are.

Yesterday, just before halftime of the Thunder’s comeback overtime victory against the Utah Jazz, coming out of a timeout, Russell Westbrook had .7 seconds to either get the ball to an open shooter–who would’ve had to immediately quicken their release–or…do what he ended up doing: throw the ball off the back of an unsuspecting defender, turn around, and hoist up a hastened jump shot.

Nothing but net.

The best part? The Thunder’s stoic reaction. Either they weren’t sure that Russ got it off on time, or they’re so used to seeing him doing superhuman things, they just nodded in approval as they walked into the locker room.

Chances are it’s the latter.
