J. Cole: Road to Homecoming – F#$K Money, Spread Love (Episode 1) from HBO on Vimeo.

On January 9, J. Cole’s J. Cole Forest Hills Drive: Homecoming special, which is an in-depth and behind-the-scenes look at the Fayetteville, North Carolina stop of his 2014 Forest Hills Drive Tour, where he brought out Jay Z and Drake, will air on HBO.

Today, Cole revealed that the 90-minute special is actually Part 5 of a much longer project that he made with Dreamville Films, titled J. Cole: Road to Homecoming, where he chronicled at length the process of announcing the album, interacting with fans before and after its release, and embarking on his international tour, which included the Fayetteville show, selling out Madison Square Garden–which has always been a dream of Cole’s–and owning opening night of Drake’s widely regarded OVO Fest.

Cole attached a light-hearted memo when he dropped Part 1 on Vimeo a short while ago, admitting that he’s not used to clueing in the general public on the non-music facets of his life, but it’s clear that this experience left such a lasting impact on him, he had to document it.

Thankfully, he’s sharing it. Watch Part 1, “F#$k Love, Spread Money” above.
