Authorities arew now looking for Ethan Couch, the 18 year old Texas teen that killed four people in a car crash in 2013 while drunk, but only received ten years probation because the defense attorney claimed that Couch suffered from “affluenza”.
“Affluenza”, according to a psychologist who testified in Couch’s court proceedings, means that the teenager suffered from being the product of wealthy, privileged parents who never set limits for the teen. His attorneys argued that because his parents spoiled him, they were indirectly responsible for the crash that killed four teens in Burleson, Texas.
Couch received a slap on the wrist with just ten years of supervised probation after the prosecution suggested 20 years behind bars and now his probation officer cannot contact neither Couch or his mother.
A possible reason for his disappearance could be the social media video showing Couch at a party where alcohol was being served. The teen can face up to 10 years of incarceration if it is proven that the terms of his probation have been violated.
