Big Sean
“Blessings” f/ Drake & Kanye West (prod. Vinylz)
Dark Sky Paradise
Prior to 2015, Big Sean was experiencing the highs and lows associated with being a young rap star in this current tabloid obsessed generation. His sophomore album, Hall Of Fame, received mixed reviews all while his personal life seemed to supersede his musical pursuits. His hit comeback single “IDFWU” came at an appropriate time, and just as his third studio album Dark Sky Paradise was nearing release, the Detroit native unveiled the lyrical assault titled “Blessings.” The track, which features Drake and Kanye West, find the trio lamenting about the trials of success but remaining way up above it, as the chorus suggests. Lest we forget Riley Curry‘s adorable rendition of the song during the Golden State Warriors playoff run.
