A$AP Rocky’s sophomore album, At.Long.Last.A$AP, was expected to feature a more mature, more sonically developed A$AP Rocky, considering the changes he underwent both personally and musically since the release of his debut, Long.Live.A$AP in 2013. “Everyday,” his Rod Stewart-sampling collaboration with R&B and Pop experts Miguel and Mark Ronson, pulls all parties involved into Rocky’s psychedelic boom bap lane, seamlessly interpolating Rocky’s roller coaster flows with Stewart’s raspy hook about vice-enhanced thoughts. It was a stark contrast to “Lord Pretty Flacko Jodye 2,” the traditional A$AP Rocky song that led this album’s roll-out, but it proved that he didn’t always have to be in his presumed comfort lane to craft a banger.
