Ty Dolla $ign’s Free TC was titled as such in commemoration of his biological brother, TC, being locked up for a crime Ty and his family are adamant TC didn’t commit. At the intermission of Ty’s debut, something magical happens. With the help of D’Mile and Nate 3D, $ign takes the jailhouse vocals and hand-made (literally) bass line sent in from TC and his cellmate, D-Loc, via phone and turns it into an uplifting number for the ages, eventually closing out with some vocals of his own, bringing in the rear of “Miracle” and adding some sensual relief with “Wherever.” It wouldn’t be Ty$ if things didn’t get a little, well, freaky.
