Hits don’t come as easy to rappers as they used to. Now that popular culture has embraced Hip Hop immensely, rap songs have to satisfy several demos before they can be recognized by the pop charts, and guys not named Kanye West, Drake (and apparently Fetty Wap) are lucky to score one per album, if at all. Don’t tell that to these guys. Rae Sremmurd, who, just over a year ago, were two kids hanging out with Mike Will Made It, have mastered the formula. Their hard-hitting, carefree party anthems have gripped the nation, and they’ve notched hit after hit in the process. They experiment greatly here with Mike Will Made It’s roller coaster synthesizers and drum bounces, which seem to be evolving as effortlessly as a young Timbaland‘s.
