Friday night, the New York Knicks landed a 107-97 victory over the reeling Philadelphia 76ers and after the game, Knicks forward Derrick Williams went out to celebrate at New York City’s Up & Down club. When that was all said and done, Williams and a group of friends headed to his Tribeca apartment along with some “new friends” for some more turn up.
The next day around 4pm, Williams checked his Louis Vuitton jewelry case and noticed that approximately $750,000 worth of jewelry was missing. He immediately called police and shared that he believes the valuables were taken by two women who might have been using fake names. When asked about the incident from the press, the forward replied, “I don’t want to talk about it. It’s still up in the air.”
NYPD has since been investigating the entire sequence of events and believe that it is related to a string of robberies involving women who steal from the rich who post their luxuries on Instagram. From the looks of Williams IG posts, the thieves definitely had a lot of motivation.
