The Hip Hop world is still in shock following the shooting of Chicago rapper King L f/k/a King Louie earlier this week. The rapper was shot in the head and is thankfully set to make a full recovery. Well wishers from Hip Hop stars rolled in this week for King L, including fellow Chi-town native and collaborator Kanye West.

Chicago, known as one of the most dangerous cities in America, is home to Hip Hop’s drill music scene, which King L is one of the pioneers of. The Chicago Tribute reported the shooting that involved the rapper left 2 dead and several others wounded. Still recovering, he took to his Instagram account and shared a photo of himself with the Honorable Minster Louis Farrakhan with the captain:

Minister Louis Farrakhan has always been an advocate of peace in minority communities afflicted with violence, even going as far as being the mediator in some of the biggest Hip Hop beefs in history. Even in 2015, the Minister is still very actively involved in the lives of youths. #Salute
