According to the Dept. of Homeland Security, ICE(Immigration and Customs Enforcement) will begin raids that will be targeting hundreds of families that have come into the country since the start of last year.
The raids, which will begin in January, is the first mass deportation of its kind that will seek to deport thousands of families that have come across the border from Central America since last year, including an unprecedented number of underage minors that have made it across the Southwest border.
The ICE operation would target only adults and children who have already been ordered removed from the United States by an immigration judge and would be detained wherever they can be found and immediately deported.
Because the operation has yet to receive the final approval from DHS, those that are familiar with the operation are giving statements about the details of the deportation, yet are remaining anonymous.
Experts say that droughts and the homicide rates in countries like El Salvador have prompted the spike of illegal immigrants in recent months.
