It appears Raven-Symone‘s narrative has gone rogue.
Former child star Lark Voorhies, the Black actress that portrayed Lisa Turtle on Saved By The Bell from 1989-1993, took to her Instagram yesterday to announce that in fact–somehow–she actually isn’t Black.
Never mind the fact that “American” is a nationality and not a race, but Voorhies appears to be delivering a narrative eerily similar to that of another former child star, The View‘s Raven-Symone, who told Oprah in October of 2014 that she preferred not to identify with any one race, claiming that because she’s from America, she is a “colorless” person.
Since 2012, Voorhies has been reported to be battling mental disorders, and according to this interview with People magazine, Lark’s mother, Tricia, says that there are “things that have traumatized” Lark.
