Talk about paying the price for your mistakes. The Portland Trail Blazers became victims of not being extra careful when handling business on and off the court. Last night, the Blazers played host to the Los Angeles Clippers. The Clippers came out victorious with the score of 109-98. The real issue of this scenario was that the Blazers shooting guard CJ McCollum was left off the active roster while being healthy. If you are wondering how did this happen, officials who organized roster paperwork accidently scratched off the former LeHigh University great.

If the Blazers had played McCollum, they would’ve received a technical foul and he still would’ve remain inactive. When noticing this error, Portland took the situation to official in the NBA and decided to have a joint call with the LA Clippers. In the joint call, the NBA decided to leave the decision to coach Doc Rivers to let McCollum play or not. Rivers decided that CJ would remain inactive, which led to the Clippers stealing a win at the Moda Center. The friendly sneer says it all as McCollum, the team’s second leading scorer (21.0 PPG) would’ve had a major impact on how the game would’ve been played out if he had suited up. Nice one, Doc!
