Jennifer Lopez‘s new cop drama, Shades of Blue, premiered on Thursday (January 7) on NBC, posting a 1.8 rating/6 share and attracting 8.6 million viewers (18-49), to take first in the 10pm ratings race. According to The Wrap, J Lo’s Shades of Blue was the most-watched NBC Thursday debut in seven years.
Lopez plays the role of Harlee Santos, a charismatic woman who has dedicated her life to being a single mother and a New York City police officer. Her squad of Brooklyn detectives is tight-knit, but when their questionable practices attract the attention of the FBI, Harlee is recruited to work undercover and must choose between ratting out her family in blue, or losing her daughter.
Shades of Blue is produced by Lopez’s own Nuyorican Productions, Universal Television, EGTV, Ryan Seacrest Productions and Jack Orman Productions.
Shades of Blue airs on Thursdays at 10pm.
