A 3 year old child shot and killed himself in a convenience store over the weekend after the youngster found a handgun behind the counter of the store, which was owned by the toddler’s father.
The Lumberton Police Department in North Carolina said that the father, Manal Abdelaziz, 56, called 911 to come to the Brother Minit Shop on Martin Luther King Boulevard where he son suffered from a self inflicted gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Police have turned the case over to the Robeson County District Attorney’s Office for review at the completion of the investigation to determine if charges will be filed.
