Michonne From ‘The Walking Dead’ Lands Major Role in Tupac Biopic

If you weren’t all the way hyped for the Tupac biopic, this might peak your interest.

The film, which is being directed by storied Hip Hop lensman Benny Boom, will feature Danai Gurira–known by many as the fearless, sword-wielding Michonne from AMC’s The Walking Dead–portraying Tupac’s mother, Afeni Shakur. Deadline reports that the biopic, titled All Eyez On Me, is already underway in Atlanta, which is where Gurira will try to hit the ground running playing Shakur, who remains an important activist and carrier of her son’s legacy, as well as an executive producer of All Eyez On Me.

During the last weeks of 2015, it was reported that Jamal Woolard (also known as rapper Gravy), who played Notorious B.I.G. in the Biggie Smalls biopic in 2009, Notorious, will reprise his role as Biggie for the Tupac biopic, and he’ll be joined by Demetrius Shipp Jr. as Pac himself.
