For the second consecutive year, Russell Wilson escaped a playoff game with a victory by the skin of his teeth.
Yesterday’s Wild Card round match-up with the pesky Minnesota Vikings wasn’t quite the Seahawks’ dramatic come-from-behind victory in 2015’s NFC Championship Game against the Packers, but it was a barn-burner for sure. In the third-coldest game in NFL history, Blair Walsh, the Vikings normally automatic field goal kicker missed a 27-yard field goal–to put it in perspective, an extra point is 30 yards–with just seconds left on the clock, gifting the Seahawks an improbable victory. Advancing to the divisional round of the playoffs was clearly enough to warm Russell Wilson up, as he apparently allowed a fan to make the phone call of a lifetime after the game, to his girlfriend Ciara.
As you can see above, the fan–who appears to be an employee of the Vikings’ stadium–reportedly ran up to Russell after the game and professed his love for the “I Bet” singer, at which time Russell was riding so high off his team’s comeback victory, he yanked out his phone, FaceTimed Ciara, and let her chat with the overzealous fan, who was disappointed he didn’t see Baby Future. We’re positive Wilson’s social media mentions are filling up with requests to FaceTime Ciara.
