Naturally, fans of the fashionable First Lady scurried to internet retailers to try their best to get their hands on the dress, priced at $2,095 on Neiman Marcus, but the majority were disappointed. No sooner did President Obama begin his pleas to fight cancer and gun violence in America did the dress sell out online–at retail price to boot.

This isn’t the first time the First Lady put a designer’s name in lights either. Back in 2009 at the inaugural ball, Obama rocked designer Jason Wu‘s gown to the festivities, making his fabrics among the most coveted in the nation.
