In 2014, just 4 months after signing to TDE–the label that houses Kendrick Lamar, ScHoolboy Q and more–Isaiah Rashad made his debut with Cilvia Demo, a digitally released album that solidified his place as one of the brightest young artists in the game. Since then Rashad has scarcely released music, opting instead to plot on his next project and tour, including an opening slot on ScHoolboy Q’s Oxymoron tour and a set at Pitchfork’s music festival.

However, fans have been calling for Rashad’s return to the scene, and it looks as if he’s finally getting back into the swing of things. After Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith teased a new music video on his Instagram, Rashad has officially released his new single, “Smile,” the artwork for which is above. No word yet on what the title of Rashad’s sophomore TDE release will be, but chances are we’ll know sooner rather than later.
