In 1983, hot off the success of the Nile Rodgers assisted “Let’s Dance”, Bowie ventured on the Serious Moonlight tour with a series of tonal two-piece suits, suspenders and ties. The 1980’s also saw Bowie transform on screen into the goblin king in children’s film Labyrinth, directed by the legendary Jim Henson. This transformation was the most contrasting Bowie had been spotted as since his Aladdin Sane character of the 70s. While off-screen coming into his own with stellar suits and almost streetwear like pieces like an oversized check shirt, Bowie found his own character and its presentation to the world proved always fashionable.
