The Miss Universe pageant made national headlines when host Steve Harvey accidentally announced First Runner Up Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutierrez, as the winner. Harvey quickly corrected himself on live television and announced Miss Philippines Pia Alonzo was actually in first place.
On Monday and Tuesday of this week, both women will appear on The Steve Harvey Show for a two-episode special called “Miss Universe: The Truth.” In the promo clip, Steve Harvey reaffirms he was terribly sorry for making the mistake. “This has caused a lot of sleepless nights for me,” Harvey says.
“I didn’t do any interviews until I could talk to the two people who were affected the most, Pia and Ariadna. No matter how tough it was for me, I can’t imagine how it was for these two women. This finally gives me a chance to have a moment of closure.”
