Naughty By Nature will celebrate its milestone 25th year with a 30-show tour, set to get underway January 27 in Greensboro, North Carolina.
The legendary Hip Hop group was discovered by fellow New Jersey native and rapper, Queen Latifah. Eventually signing the group to her ‘Flavor Unit’ management company, Latifah helped them land a deal with Tommy Boy Records.
Since entering Hip Hop music in the nineties, the rap trio has released six studio albums: from 1991’s Naughty By Nature to 2011’s Anthem, Inc. Their self-titled debut album proved Naughty By Nature’s breakthrough, earning the instant number one “O.P.P.,” which sampled The Jackson 5‘s hit “ABC.”
In 1992, the group won the American Music Award for Favorite New Hip Hop Artist and in 1996, “Poverty’s Paradise” won Best Rap Album at The Grammys.
Naughty By Nature is MCs Treach (Anthony Criss), Vin Rock (Vincent Brown) and DJ/Producer Kay Gee (Keir Gist).
Tickets for the ‘Naughty By Nature 25th Anniversary Tour’ are available at Ticketmaster, Live Nation, and also from their official website: www.naughtybynature.com. Hip Hop Hooray!
