A KKK chapter in Mobile, Alabama upset residents when they decided to send out recruitment paraphenalia on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s observed birthday holiday.
The pamphlets, that were distributed in sandwich baggies, read, “Happy Birthday Dr. Martin Luther King Jr….We Also Have A Dream…”
“The blacks have NAACP, the Mexicans have La Raza, the Jews have JDL, and white people have the KKK,” the flyers state. The flyer included an animated image of Dr. King along with the contact information for the Loyal White Knights, the North Carolina based KKK chapter that was responsible for distributing the hateful literature.
The flyers didn’t put a damper on the city’s MLK Day festivities, which included a breakfast and march.
