DJ Khaled has spent the past few months teaching us the keys to success on Snapchat; but today, his duties were heightened. Becoming more and more known for taking control of the circumstances in his own life, the sought-after motivational speaker and multi-platinum and gold-selling DJ-producer temporarily took over for Principal Sonia Romero at Carol City Middle School in Miami Gardens, Florida as the top authority in charge.
The establishment was treated with his presence courtesy of GetSchooled – which has also brought the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Big Sean, Ne-Yo, and (appropriately) ScHoolboy Q – after winning the program’s highest attendance challenge. The celebratory assembly featured a live performance of “All I Do Is Win,” a lengthy inspirational speech, and onstage interview with MTV and Shade 45’s Sway Calloway.
In addition to buying everyone lunch, Khaled donated $10,000 of his own money to the school’s music equipment prior to being honored with the esteem of January 20 now officially being recognized as DJ Khaled Day in Miami Gardens. He was also granted the key to the city – yet another one of which that “THEY,” as he often points out, certainly did not want him to acquire.
