On a recent episode of daytime talk show, The Real, Jermaine Dupri was a guest, and sat on the couch with Tamar Braxton, Adrienne Bailon, Tamera Mowry and more of the show’s personalities, and compared his job as a record producer to being a gynecologist in a hilarious clip, which you can watch above.

Jermaine Dupri: I’m like a gynecologist.

Adrienne Bailon: I want to hear this analogy.

Tamera Mowry-Housley: Elaborate, please.

Jermaine: Okay, I say that… I only use that because as women, when y’all go to the doctor, you know what his job is. So you can’t sit there and act crazy, you just got to do what he says. “Open up and let’s go.”

[The Real audience claps and laughs.]

Jermaine: Right?

Adrienne: So it’s your job to sometimes deliver bad news.

Jermaine: Yeah, so when they come to the studio or when they come to the house or whatever it is… “Open up and let’s go.”
Dupri then went on to explain that his time producing for Aretha Franklin contributed heavily to his production approach, citing time they spent in the studio together as a major teaching moment for the Grammy Award winning producer.
The full episode of The Real Dupri appears on airs on FOX on Friday, January 22.
