Kanye West‘s February 11 album release date has drawn a lot of attention on social media. Almost everyone seems thrilled about the random album title switch from Swish to #Waves—except Wiz Khalifa.
The rapper took to Twitter to talk about who he thinks the true owner of “waves” is, Max B.
Please don’t take the wave.

Max B is the wavy one. He created the wave. There is no wave without him. — KOE (@wizkhalifa) January 27, 2016
Im a wavy baby for sure and I’m not having it. https://t.co/M7hhKo5TlP

Kanye, whose original tracklist now includes subheadings reading Acts 1-3, has declared the album not only “album of the year” but the “album of the life.”
From 2006-2009, Max B was best known for his individualistic mix tapes and affiliation with rappers like Jim Jones, French Montana and more. His music, which has a laidback and nostalgic feel, earned him fans all over the world—including Wiz, who showed his support and appreciation to Max (who’s currently serving a 75-year prison sentence) by sharing his music on Twitter and interacting with fans about it.
Khalifa, currently on a South American tour, recently released a freestyle over Adele’s “Hello,” remixing the title to “Hella-O’s” in true stoner fashion.
Kanye recently responded on Twitter acknowledging Max B and Andre Harrell by saluting the two in a few words. Can February 11 get here any sooner?
All respect to Andre Harrel and Max B #Waves — KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) January 27, 2016
