The Cleveland Police Department released Tuesday that six officers involved in the slaughter of Timothy Russell and Malissa Williams on November 29, 2012.

This particular shooting started as a police chase. The chase began when officers misinterpreting a run down Chevy Malibu having car trouble for a gunshot. The chase lasted 20 minutes beginning in East Cleveland and ending in front of Heritage Middle School in Cleveland and before its end involved more than 100 officers. At its end 137 shots were fired into the windshield of the vehicle killing Russell and Williams who were both unarmed.

Both victims were African American and the majority of officers who pulled their triggers were white males causing this incident to create much civil unrest. Michael Brelo, one of the men responsible, was acquitted of all charges in the trial following this massacre which started a wave of protests in Ohio and on the east coast.

Along with the six officers who were fired, five supervising officers have been charged with misdemeanors for not stopping the police chase and another six are facing suspension of 21-30 days.
