A$AP Rocky has been making waves in music and fashion since the start of A$AP Mob in 2006. The Harlem rapper, known for his no holds barred lyrics and opinions, has continuously elevated his career by creating his own lane.
Not losing any steam on his way to Hip Hop stardom, Rocky seems to have new music or fashion projects constantly in the works. This week the A$AP Mob front man is living up to his continued contributions, teaming up with legendary producer and rapper Pharrell for a new song titled “Hear Me.”
The mellow yet colorful song has a relaxed flow, with Rocky boasting “….chilling on a boat / In the south of France / Island hopping off the coast.” Pharrell comes in on the hook, with catchy phrases that support the song’s titled. He states “if they ain’t playing in the game, then they hatin’ on the side.”
Both musicians have been winning this past year. Pharrell was recently named New York University’s New Artist In Residence at the Tisch School of the Arts. Along with his musical contributions, Pharrell was also recognized for his influence in fashion by the Council of Fashion Designers of America as the 2015 recipient of their Fashion Icon Award. His collaborations with both Missy Elliot and Puff Daddy were significant as they returned to the music scene. The super producer also had a great year in music, riding off the über success of his super hit, “Happy.”
Rocky made sure to start 2016 off in a fresh way with his POP magazine spread alongside legendary supermodel Naomi Campbell. Along with “Hear Me,” Rocky released two new singles from A$AP Mob, a CDQ version of “Yamborghini High” featuring Juicy J and a remix to Drake’s “Wu-Tang Forever.”
