The songstress took to her Instagram to debut a new color for the Cover Girl “Queen Collection” entitled Monarch. Everything about the photo is perfection: the gold headband is giving the significance of a crown, along with a sheer pussy-bow blouse with gold detail, paired with the pop of new lip shade. Completely flawless. The photo was accompanied by the caption:

Cover Girl became the first cosmetics company to sign Black models to an exclusive contract in 1992, and 10 years later Janelle was signed to a deal in 2012. She began the campaign staying aligned with her signature clean and classic style and has been giving us slayage every since. In an interview with Vogue back in 2012, she expressed why she thought choosing this cosmetics company was the best fit for her.

“Growing up and trying to find myself as a woman and experimenting with makeup, I’d go buy magazines,” she says. “I’d see Tyra Banks [in the CoverGirl ads] and I’d think, Wow, she’s beautiful. It never looked like she had on too much makeup. There was just something clean and classic about her face”
