Pharrell and Chance The Rapper are set to sit down and talk music this weekend on Beats1.
Pharrell, who’s already sat down with A$AP Rocky, Missy Elliot, Tyler The Creator and Puff Daddy, hosts the OTHERtone Beats1 Radio show via Apple Music with co-host Scott Vener. The show is scheduled for Sunday [February 7] at 12 PM PST. Beats1 announced the news on Twitter with a candid photograph of Chance, Pharrell and Verner in mid-conversation.
Beats1 has boasted an impressive line-up of celebrity hosts including Drake, Jaden Smith, Disclosure and now Pharrell Williams. Apple announced the arrival of the curated internet radio show last summer by giving exclusive access to iPhone users. However, Android users looking to catch the unique exchange should not fret. Apple officially made Beats1 Android friendly in the fall. This means Sunday all fans will get a chance to witness two generations of Hip Hop creativity in one room.
Chance the Rapper recently made headlines for his philanthropic work for the city of Chicago. His “Warmest Winter 2016” initiative raised over $100,000 and provided high-tech self-heating coats for 1,000 of Chicago’s homeless. The project, a collaboration with non-profit organization Empowerment Plan, also helped to provide full-time jobs for homeless parents from local shelters. When he’s not making the world a better place he is making sure his fan’s ears happy. This week the rapper released a new track with Lil B titled “Beautiful Chicago” which also features K E I T H.
We can only image the type of conversation the two generations of creators will have. Pharrell, who recently released a track titled “Hear Me” with A$AP Rocky, is showing how to eloquently matriculate in Hip Hop. The producer who now wears a number of hats clearly has a thing or two to teach the next generation of industry influencers. The two who both have a bold message and even bolder delivery in music are sure to enlighten all who listen this Sunday. For more check out the official tweet from Beats1 below.
